Day 3 - July 29
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Having been here two years ago, we decided to just take the free Hop on Hop off bus around town. We hopped off to visit the Maritime Museum of The Atlantic, the Brown Hound Public House for a lobster roll, and the Fairview Lawn Cemetery (where some victims of the Titanic were buried). I also made sure to stock up on maple sugar candy and did some souvenir shopping.
This was the view from our room coming into Port this morning. As soon as we got close to the dock the fog lifted and it was a beautiful warm day.
Docked at the pier, you can see the fog layer just outside the harbor.
Riding on the upper deck of an old fashioned double decker bus.
Beautiful wooden boats at the Maritime Museum.
Many models of ships. They said some of them took 3000 man hours to build.
Beware of the Kraken!
Steve expertly tying a bowline knot!
The museum had a couple old boats to tour. This was the Acadia.
The Captain's quarters attached to the radio room. The bed couldn't have been longer than 5 feet!
While sailing away, our neighbors got to enjoy the smooth styling from our resident musician!
Last view of Nova Scotia before the fog took over again.
